Alan Sowell

Vice President, Project Management, POWER Engineers, Inc.
Mr. Sowell is a Vice President of Project Management with POWER Engineers and has substantial experience in all phases of project development, engineering, and management for transmission, substation, and distribution projects through 765 kV. He is actively engaged with clients on the East Coast and currently manages a staff of 50 project managers across the United States. Mr. Sowell has gained extensive project management, engineering, operations, and energy services experience through decades of tackling challenges and solving problems within the industry. His operational experience includes leading storm response teams, managing operations centers, and managing first responder teams. A proponent of safety and process improvement, he actively promotes risk management, safety, and HPI, leading after-action review teams and presenting on these topics at industry events and for professional organizations. Prior to joining POWER, he served in various leadership positions with TRC Engineers, Burns & McDonnell, Progress Energy, and Georgia Power Company. He received his Master of Business Administration in finance from Kennesaw State University, a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and is a certified Project Management Professional.
