An energy economist with more than 30 years of experience in consulting and technology development for the electric utility industry, John has worked in energy efficiency, demand response, and renewables for most of his career.' John currently serves as Project Officer for the Solar Load Balancing Software Project, a DOE project developing methods for integrating renewables into the grid by offsetting solar variability with storage and load flexibility. ' '' Prior to Extensible Energy, John directed retail energy software markets for ABB, where he delivered load curtailment software to utilities worldwide. He founded Energy Interactive, a pioneering software company in utility Web applications, including some of the first customer engagement software offered through utility Web sites to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.' John has a BA in Economics from Reed College, and an MA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
