NILES — A new business enterprise in the town just lately was awarded a grant that will aid make exterior enhancements, according to a news launch.
The Niles Community Advancement Company Facade Incentive Plan awarded its to start with grant to Tricomi and Associates Inc. to aid with exterior renovations to its making on the corner of Robbins and Lafayette avenues. The plan presented 50 % matching grants for exterior enhancements, sidewalk repairs and signage, the release states.
Niles Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz said the incentive system “aims to make improvements to the total physical appearance of downtown Niles and the central organization district by furnishing cash for new and existing organization owners to mend and refurbish the exterior of their structures,” the launch states.
Eligible repairs include hardscape fencing, facade upgrades, signal substitution and sidewalk repair and installation. A 50 % matching grant up to $5,000 can be made use of for facade advancements, though a 50 p.c matching grant up to $2,500 can be used for sidewalks, according to the release.
